Create my account

  • Is it essential to have an account?

    To create a money pool, YES! It is essential to have a Tiing account. This is done in a very simple way, during the creation of your collection by entering your name, first name, email address. You can also use Facebook Connect, which is even easier and just as secure.

    To participate in the money pool, NO! You are not required to create an account at all. You just need your first and last name, email address and a credit card.

  • How do I log in to my Tiing account?

    To connect to your Tiing account, go to the top right of the home page and click on "Connection".

    Then enter your username and password. If you lose or forget your password, click on "Forgot password", you will receive an email to reset your password.

    If you use Facebook Connect, simply click on "Identification with Facebook" to access your "My account" space.

  • I forgot my password ?

    If you lose or forget your password, click on "Forgot password" when you try to connect.

    You will receive an email to reset your password, as well as a confirmation email once the change has been made.

  • I would like to modify my personal information

    You are free to modify your personal information. To do this, log on to www.tiing.ca then go to "My Account" in the "Personal Information" section.

    If you don't have an account yet, you can create one for free using the same email address you used when you entered.

  • Can I request the deletion/cancellation of my account?

    Contact us directly at contact@tiing.ca. We can deactivate it for you on simple request.

  • Can you erase all my data?

    Of course, please make a request by writing to us at contact@tiing.ca. All your information will be erased from our database.

  • I forgot my email address attached to my account, what should I do?

    Contact us directly at contact@tiing.ca. We will send you your email attached to your money pool.

  • What is the point of personalizing your money pool ?

    Personalization is the key to success! This way, each participant can identify with your cause and will be even more eager to participate. To do so :

    • Choose a beautiful photo to insert by clicking "Add".
    • Write a detailed description of your money pool At the very least you should explain the reason for the money poil.
    • If you are lacking inspiration, we offer a default text.

    😇 Know that by making this personalization effort you will gain more than 40% efficiency.

  • Who can see my money pool ?

    All money pools are private. They are accessible and therefore visible only to people who have been invited to participate using the link or URL received by the organizer of the money pool.

  • Why is your money pool title so important?

    Choosing the title of your money pool is an essential step in its personalization. This title should be as clear and attractive as possible. Neither too long nor too short, it's up to you to find the best title to personalize your project.

  • Why is the illustration of your money pool important?

    To make your money pool attractive, you have to think about the aesthetics of it. When creating the money pool, you are offered to choose 1 presentation image. We provide visuals, which vary according to the categories, but the ideal is to download the image of your choice (max 2 MB).

  • How to change the information of your money pool ?

    You can change your money pool information at any time without anyone knowing! To do this, simply log into your account, go to the money pool and select the settings.

    • Photos: Edit your Photos or upload your own images.
    • Description: Modify the explanatory text of your money pool and, if you want, you can add a youtube video in the description.
    • Amounts: Change the amount to reach and the visibility of the contributions.
    • Notifications: Choose the notifications you will receive by email.
  • How do I invite new participants?

    To invite new participants to your money pool, go to your money pool page. In the guest area, click on the invitation pictograms (FB, Insta, Whatsapp, Messenger etc…). Then choose between:

    • Share on Facebook:
      It's quick and easy, you just have to click on "the Facebook icon".
    • Share the fundraiser link (URL) directly:
      This link is your money pool and it is unique! It's up to you to copy it. Feel free to share it as you see fit (on Messenger, by email, etc.)
    • Share on Twitter
    • Share on Messenger
    • Share via Whatsapp in Mobile mode
  • How do I see people who have already participated?

    As an organizer you automatically receive an email after each participation. You are informed of the identity (surname and first name) of the donor and the amount paid. In addition, at the bottom of each money pool is the list of participants. In the blink of an eye, you can see who has participated.

  • The objective has not been reached or has been exceeded?

    No worries ! Your fundraising goal is for information only and has no consequences. If this is not reached, or even better if it is exceeded 🙂, you can still use the money.

  • The photo of my money pool is displayed incorrectly or not at all, what should I do?

    Your image is struggling to be seen… This may be due to :

    • The name of your image: it must not contain any accent (à, â, é, è, ê, ë, î, ï, ô, ù, û, ç..), nor special characters (;:+ = &@#...). If you ever want to change this information, go to your account, click on the title of your money pool in "my pots", you will arrive directly on the page of your money pool in editable mode.
    • The size of your image: it must not exceed 2 MB maximum.
    • Your browser: we advise you to try again from a different browser than the one you used previously, such as Safari, Firefox or Chrome via your computer or telephone.

    If the upload still doesn't work, we can embed the photo for you. In this case, send us your photo to contact@tiing.ca mentioning the name of your money pool and the email of your Tiing account.

  • What is Tiing's "headline money pool" section?

    Your money pool can be chosen by our teams to be displayed in the "Trending money pool" section. This section is visible on the home page of our site: www.tiing.ca and on our page: https://www.tiing.ca/en/trending-money-pools/.

    This provides even more visibility to your money pool and increases the chances of collecting donations.

  • Can I request a cancellation of my money pool?

    You can request cancellation by explaining the reason and by writing to us at contact@tiing.ca. All money pool participants will be refunded. They will receive, within 4 to 5 working days, their refund on the credit card that was used for payment.

    Please note that as indicated on our Terms of Use: https://www.tiing.ca/en/general-conditions-of-use/, "The cost of $1 deducted by Tiing for financial costs at the time of each participation cannot give rise to for reimbursement".

    Example: if your contribution was $10, you were deducted $11 via tiing during payment (10+1) so we will reimburse you $10 and not $11.

Close my money pool

  • How to use the money in your money pool?

    When your kitty has reached the desired amount or the collection period mentioned has expired, go to www.tiing.ca then:

    1. Log in to your user account.
    2. Click on "My money pool" then on the title of your pool.
    3. Click on the "Use the money" button.
    4. And select the spending method of your choice.

    Once this action has been taken, guests will no longer be able to save an entry and you will no longer be able to modify your money pool. You are free to spend the money collected at your convenience.

  • Can I get the money back in installments?

    At the moment, this option is not available, but you can request it by email at contact@tiing.ca.

  • To which countries can I make a payment?

    Payment can only be made in Canada! The organizer absolutely needs to have a bank account in Canada to request a transfer.

  • Do you make international transfers?

    It is possible to request an international transfer. In this specific case, 2 solutions are available to you:

    • The funds can be transferred to the person of your choice living in Canada and having a bank account in Canada. Then, it's up to you to arrange with them to make an international transfer between yourselves.
    • We can make an international transfer to your foreign bank. It will incur an additional charge of $15. This sum will be deducted from the money pool amount. If you choose this option, we need the following information:
      • BIC SWIFT code of your bank
      • IBAN
      • Your home and bank address
      • A photocopy of your identity document

    Once our team has all this information in hand, they will proceed with the international transfer. It takes 4 to 5 working days for the transfer to take place. In addition, the confirmation of the transaction as well as a summary of your money pool will be sent to you by email.

  • What are the costs associated with closing my money pool?

    A commission of 4% is deducted from the total amount of your money pool after closing. For example, if your money pool is $1000, you will receive $960.

  • I want to make my transfer to an association or a company?

    If you want to make your payment request to an association or a company it can be done very easily. It’s the same principle as for a transfer to an individual. A simple email, mentioning the name of the association or company, as well as the creation of a security question and answer is enough to send your payment.

  • How long do I have to use the money from my money pool?

    It's your collection, you are totally free to spend it whenever you want.

  • Do I receive a closing confirmation after closing my money pool?

    Yes, of course. You will receive a closing confirmation email, followed by a more detailed summary.

  • How long does it take to receive the money in my account?

    The transfer time to your bank account is 48 to 72 hours maximum, on working days. You obviously have to make a request in your "my account" space.

  • I entered the wrong email address to receive my money pool cash, what should I do?

    Do not panic ! Contact us at contact@tiing.ca and we will correct the email address in question.

  • I entered a different email from the one attached to my bank account to receive the funds, what should I do?

    No worries ! It doesn't matter what email you created your Tiing account on. You decide which bank account you deposit the funds from your money pool into.

  • I still haven't received my funds after 72 business hours?

    In this case, contact us at contact@tiing.ca and we will send you a follow-up of your transfer as soon as possible.

Contribute to a money pool

  • How to participate in a money pool?

    Registration of participation is very simple, it can be done in 2 steps directly from the home page.

    1. Fill in the payment information:
      • Your first name, last name and email.
        And that's all ! You don’t have to create an account to contribute to a money pool. If you are already logged in, you will not have to fill in the previous fields.
      • The amount you would like to contribute
    2. Fill in the credit card information:
      • Credit card number
      • Expiry date
      • The verification code (CVV)
      • Zip code
    3. With an Apple Pay or Google Pay account, it's even easier.

      Choose one of the two payment providers and you're done. You don't have to enter anything except the verification code (CVV).

    You are then notified of the success of your payment, via Stripe, by email. This is immediately credited and available on the money pool page. Your name and amount will appear, by default, on the page.

  • How do I contact the money pool organizer?

    If you do not know the organizer of the money pool you are invited to, you can contact him by writing to us at contact@tiing.ca. We will send you his contact details.

  • What credit cards are accepted on Tiing?

    We accept the following credit cards:

    • Visa
    • MasterCard
    • AMex
  • Do you accept foreign credit cards?

    We accept Canadian and foreign credit cards. So your friends, whether they are French, American, Canadian, Chinese or Spanish… Whether they use Euros, Dollars or another currency, they can all participate with the help of their credit cards!

  • What is the minimum and maximum amount for a participation?

    When participating in a pot, the minimum amount is $1 and there is no maximum amount.

  • How to find a money pool?

    The money pools are not public. They are therefore not referenced on the internet. Only people who have the link (or url) of the money pool in their possession will be able to consult and participate in it. If you do not have this link, you can contact the creator so that he can communicate it to you.

  • Can we hide the name and the amount of his contribution?

    You are free to make your participation completely anonymous or not! You have the choice to display or hide the amount of your participation. And the same goes for your identity.

    • Hidden amount: on the money pool in the "list of participants" section, if you choose "hidden amount", only your first and last name and the mention "hidden amount" will appear.
    • Hidden identity: on the money pool in the "list of participants" section, if you choose "hidden identity", the mention "anonymous" and the amount of your participation will appear.
    • Totally anonymous: on the money pool in the "list of participants" section if you tick both options, the words "anonymous" and "hidden amount" will appear.

    Note that you cannot go back once these options have been chosen. If necessary, contact us at contact@tiing.ca, we can make the change for you!

  • Do I receive a payment confirmation after participating in the money pool?

    For each participation you make on Tiing you will receive a confirmation email from our partner Stripe.

  • Can I participate for a friend?

    Participating in a money pool on behalf of a third party is entirely possible. You just need to follow these steps:

    1. Go to the money pool page and click on the "I participate" button.
    2. Then fill in the name, first name and email of the person for whom you wish to participate.
    3. Fill in your own credit card information.
    4. Once your participation has been validated, your friend's name will appear on the money pool.
  • Can I get an invoice for my participation?

    Tiing does not issue invoices for participation. However, each participation in a money pool results in the sending of a payment confirmation email. This email serves as proof of payment.

  • Can I get a tax receipt for my participation?

    Tiing does not issue tax receipts for participation.

  • What should I do if my participation has not been taken into account?

    Several reasons can explain a payment problem. Contact us directly at contact@tiing.ca indicating the email with which you participated. We will do everything we can to identify the reasons for the problem and how to solve it as soon as possible.

  • Can I request a cancellation of my participation?

    Have you changed your mind ? No worries ! Send an email to contact@tiing.ca requesting a refund of your contribution. You will then receive an email from our payment partner: www.stripe.com. Your refund will be effective on the credit card used within 5 working days. However, please note that bank charges of $1 cannot give rise to a refund, as indicated in our CGV - chapter Withdrawal of participation: https://www.tiing.ca/en/general-conditions-of-use/

  • Can I change the amount of my contribution?

    No ! Once you've made your payment, you can't go back. However, you can write to us and we will modify the amount you wish to pay. The rest of the amount will be refunded to you. Your refund will be effective on the credit card used within 5 working days. However, please note that bank charges of $1 cannot give rise to a refund, as indicated in our CGV - chapter Withdrawal of participation: https://www.tiing.ca/en/general-conditions-of-use/

  • I made a double payment by mistake, how do I get a refund?

    Contact us on contact@tiing, a member of our team will reimburse you for the overpayment. In this specific case, there will be no $1 fee charged.

  • Why is there an extra $1 fee?

    Our Tiing platform is completely transparent. We charge a $1 fee for each contribution, regardless of the amount of the participation. This additional dollar allows us to ensure the security of payments and the confidentiality of your data via our financial partner www.stripe.com.
